1. HOW SAFE IS LEARNING TO SURF?
At Onboard we are a team of qualified Surfing Australia instructors
who are very caring and safety conscious. All equipment is the
latest. We supply soft foam GBoards, full length wetsuits and
rash vests for your protection and comfort.
2. DO I NEED TO BE FIT?
You don’t need to be very fit as your first lesson will be conducted
in up to chest deep water. The more you surf the better your fitness!
3. DO YOU HAVE A WETSUIT TO FIT ME?
We understand some participants are concerned about their
size. We will make sure you are comfortable in our new wetsuits.
Women’s wetsuits start at size 6 to 20. Men’s wetsuits start at
size XS to XXXL. Kids wetsuits 4 to 16.
4. HOW MANY LESSONS DO I NEED?
Your first lesson will be 2 hours. You will probably feel that is long
enough for your first surfing experience, but you will most likely
want to come back for more. We can upgrade you into package
lessons of your choice so you can continue to improve at reduced
prices.
5. WHAT AGE DO I NEED TO BE?
There are no age restrictions on participants. Onboard welcomes all
ages and abilities. Generally most children aged 7 to adults above
80 years can have a go! If you have any concerns about your age
give us a call.

6. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Wear a comfortable pair of bathers, bring a towel, 30+ sunscreen and
a drink. We supply Kodak underwater cameras 27 exposures. Price
$25.00 each.
7. ARE THERE ANY SHARKS?
Yes sharks do live in the ocean. We have not sighted any sharks.
Ocean Grove main beach is regularly patrolled by Surf Life Savers. It
is considered to be far more dangerous driving to the ocean than surfing
in it. So relax.
8. WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Surfing lessons are conducted in the rain. If the weather conditions are
not safe for surfing we will cancel the lesson on the day.
9. DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes Onboard Surf School is a Licensed Surf School of Surfing Australia
Inc., Public Liability cover is $20,000,000.
10. HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE SURF LESSON?
We accept Master, Visa, Bankcard, cheque, electronic transfer and cash.
